Brian Hollingworth - Examples of recent commissions     How to Commission

bronze cockerel sculpture  Bronze Sculpture of a Bantam Cockerel.

Brian Hollingworth created this bronze sculpture for a client who had a wonderful bantam cockerel that had been reared from a chick. It has become a much loved member of the family and has a remarkable character. The cockerel enjoys breakfast with the family and is very much in control of the rest of the brood.

Working closely at every stage with the client, Brian used the many photographs supplied, to design the cockerel  sculpture. It was important to get the right attitude to convey the obvious superiority this cockerel held within the domain that he ruled over.

The sculpture was created in clay and taken to Pangolin Editions in Stroud.  Here it was moulded and cast in wax. After further work upon the wax, this was used to cast in bronze. The bronze cast is chased and perfected before the sculpture is finally patinated.

Bronze Resin Sculpture of a Silver back Gorilla

Bronze resin gorilla animal sculpture

This magnificent Silver back Gorilla was commissioned for the garden. The cliet already had large animal sculptures in his garden. There was a corner of the garden that needed a large sculpture to give the final impact to an already delightful garden.

Exploring Brian Hollingworth's existing web site he discovered the wide range of gorilla sculptures previously made by Brian. Again working with the client, discussing ideas and sending sketched ideas the design fo the gorilla animal sculpture was decided upon. The gorilla was made first in its entirity clay.

The clay was taken by another craftsperson for moulding and casting. The final cast is made using bronze resin. This has all the appearances of bronze and is patinated to create the shades and tones of a silverback gorilla.
